Direct-to-film printing prints your design onto a clear film carrier, coats it with adhesive powder, and cures it. You press it onto a garment, peel the film, and the ink is bonded into the fabric. A gang sheet is a single large sheet with your designs arranged across it, and you pay for the space they occupy rather than for how many there are or how many colours each uses. That is what makes a run of twelve shirts viable when screen printing would need a minimum of fifty to make sense.
Two constants regardless of where you are ordering from: you need a heat press to apply the transfers properly, and you should buy one small test sheet before any significant run so you can judge colour and feel on your own garments rather than on a monitor.
